12 Jan Winter Magic
Dismantling Christmas doesn’t have to be a let-down. It’s time to celebrate the magic of winter. Here are a few images from the Nelson home to fire your imagination. Patti created this piece for a long table but it can be scaled to any piece of furniture in your home. She started with an old galvanized poultry feeder and added evergreen cuttings from her yard, snow sprayed pine sprigs, as well as the silk lambs ear that she used in her Christmas mantel wreath.
The Christmas sparkle doesn’t have to be packed away. Patti’s tip in decorating for winter is to remove the red from your favorite pieces. She filled this metal vase with assorted silver and snow white balls.
Patti filled the base of this wide mouth glass jug with sand and added silver ornaments as well as silver beaded accent sprays.
Patti and Jerry created this decorative wall in their entry. They began by centering a mirror with a chunky rustic frame. The wall includes favorite images, inspirational verses and eclectic design elements. As a finishing touch, they hung a snow sprayed wreath on the mirror which can easily be changed out for the season. It’s still a work in progress as Patti plans to attach a piece of old barn wood above the corbels to use a shelf.
