Master Your Room

07 Apr Master Your Room

I am going to take you back in time to when our home was a parade home. Our home was the 2006 Fall Parade for J & J Concepts. If I look at the difference between how we were decorating back then and what we are now designing, I would call the Mid-2000’s “Bold.” So the first two pictures (below) are of my Master Bedroom during the parade:
Now notice the other two pictures of homes that we have built recently, How do they make you feel? Ten years ago it was all about bold colors and striking accent colors (Chocolate Brown walls with blue accenting tray). Now in 2014-2015 we have switched over to more of a “Tranquil” feel. We have gone to softer neutral colors which gain us options for throwing in all kinds of accent colors with the accents themselves.
The second two Master Bedrooms pictures have paint color favorites like Revere Pewter (Benjamin Moore) and Essential Gray (Sherwin Williams). These soft neutrals actually give us a ton more options to change colors with just accent pieces. They invoke a soft spa like feel. So make a change! Take a few of your dark “bold” colors and lighten them. At all of our parade homes we have sheets with the listed colors of the homes. Feel free to pick one up!
